Lingenfelter Car Collection Tour

and Dinner Cruise

March 21, 2009

About 30 of CLC’s members & guests toured the private Lingenfelter Car Collection which is housed at Metropolitan Motor Sports in Brighton Michigan.  The collection is owned by Ken Lingenfelter (cousin to the renown NHRA Drag racer John Lingenfelter who passed away a few years back as a result of injuries suffered from a accident while racing).  The collection consists of over 100 European exotic’s, Corvettes and American muscle cars.  Everyone had a really great time.  The tour lasted about 2.5 hours.  During the tour Doug Emch (the collection’s curator) started up a 1969 Camaro with a 572 Big Block for us and Ken Lingenfelter started up the Ferrari Enzo  (one of the two cars in the collection worth well over 1 million dollars).  Both sounded unbelievable.  Everyone should have one in their garage.

After the tour all drove over to the South Lyon Inn for “Fun & Food” where everyone had a great meal and had a great time visiting and talking “cars”……

Nothing like hearing a 572 Big Block being revved up to get the “juices” flowing……..looks like it is time to get the Corvettes and muscle cars out for this year’s “cruising season”.  Hopefully we can do it again in the next year or two………..

Thanks to Greg and Gina for hosting a great CLC event.
