Corvette Legends Club Trip with the National Corvette Museum Caravan 2009

September 2 - 6,  2009

Once again we were off exploring the country side.  We left Michigan on Wednesday, September 2nd with about 70 Corvettes from the Pratt & Miller shop in New Hudson, joined another 20 Vettes in Marshall and then hundreds more at Indy.  What a sight that was!!

We stopped the first night in Indianapolis and the next day drove our cars on the speedway, then headed off to Bowling Green. We did a Chinese fire drill in Indianapolis, that's what it looked like to us.  We would come to an intersection and Vettes would be at every corner coming in every direction.  Now keep in mind we were all suppose to be going the same way.  We got out the GPS and  finally made it to Kentucky.

We ate lots of food, (what would this club be like without food) drank lots of wine (well the girls drank the wine, the guys drank the beer) spent a lot of money shopping (some more then others , ask Jim V.), visited the museum, went to Makers Mark distillery, drove on some fantastic roads, and basically just had a blast.  We met a lot of great people, some from Australia who we swapped hats, shirts and email addresses with and look forward to see again at another NCM event.

Can't wait for the 20th anniversary of the museum to do this all over again.  Hope the rest of you can join us next time.  - Sandy.

Note to Sandy:  remember that Jimmy SAVED so much money on his exhaust that the hoops were really free~!! - Tom G.

Thanks to Phil & Helen, Jimmy & Sandy and George & Jan for all their efforts to organize this great trip.

Thanks to Sandy for the trip write-up.

Another dinner

You never get hungry on a Corvette Legends Club trip.

The Beatles were there - well, not the real Beatles but these guys have been

touring the world for 26 years playing 45 year old Beatles music!

If you missed the CLC gang 'dancing in the street' to Beatles music - well, it was a sight to see!!

We finally had to say goodbye to Bowling Green and stopped by the

assembly plant for some final photos

Rose's hats were treated with loving care throughout the trip.

If you missed this trip, I would highly recommend making the next one -

or any long distance caravan with the CLC - Tom G.
