CLC Trip  - Frankenmuth Autofest

September 11th

We started with Alex's breakfast at 7:45AM and some of us didn't get home until 10PM - Frankenmuth Autofest is just a great event (even if it is a little wet).  We had nine gleaming Corvettes in the caravan drive up to Frankenmuth where we pulled into our reserved parking spaces (really just lucked out) right next to the Bavarian Inn.  We strolled through the huge car display, bought some hats and shirts from our favorite Corvette apparel dealer.  We got inside the Bavarian Inn for a great fried Chicken (and liver?) lunch just as the rain started, did some shopping (actually some of the girls did much more shopping and less car looking) and then some of us stayed for the oldies concert.  Even though the concert did not start as scheduled, it was worth the wait as we were entertained by the Contours (with an original band member present) and Phil Dirt and the Dozers where the band and poodle skirts were scheduled to party until midnight.  We are hoping to make this an overnight event in 2011 so we can enjoy even more of this fantastic event - Tom G.
